Sail And Slope By crazy4disney on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Ok, now everyone who likes to ski has heard of Wintergreen, right? Well, where we live, it is a bit of a drive. In fact all the ski resorts are at least 4 hours or more away. So, my wife found this wonderful option for my daughter. We generally give her a gift certificate each year for her birthday so she and a friend can go ski at the fabulous Wintergreen slopes! She loves it! The bus leaves Raleigh at 4:10 am. and returns about 9:45 p.m. On the trip up, they provide a light snack and on the way back, the bus stops to allow the guests to purchase some fast food and return to the bus to eat. So, make sure you allot some extra money for snacks, lunch and breakfast. We usually send ours with a backback of gear (gloves, change of dry clothes, bib, and water and some junk food). The price is wonderful...$42 for the bus ride, $18 for the lift ticket and $15 for the ski or snowshoe rental. You can also rent bibs, and other gear as well at Wintergreen but I can't recall the price now...we just borrow from friends to save money. This is an excellant deal for those who want to send their kids to ski in the safety of a group...we've been sending our daughter and a friend (the explicit instructions to stay together always) since she was 18. So, check it out , you won't be disappointed http://www.slopeandsail.com/

I have never been but I think it would be great fun!
Sounds like fun and a great place to go. Thanks for sharing the information.
Maybe you could add an update and tell more about where this is. North Carolina?
