There is no need to heat anything up (other than rubbing the strips between your hands) and no messy clean up. All you need to do is cut the strips to the size and shape you want, put on and peel off. It does hurt, but this product doesn't claim to be pain free. Just effective. The box comes with finishing oil that feels really good to put on afterwards. It removes any wax that's left behind and actually makes my skin feel soft.
