This Samsung DVD Recorder should have been returned.We had it for a while before we even tried recording anything on it.I believe this was a complete waste of money.We wanted to be able to make DVDs from our Hi 8 camcorder.We have not had much success.The problem is that the recorder only accepts CD-R and CD-RW DVDs.It will not take CD+R or CD+RW DVDs.Even when I used the correct format, it was very picky and did not always work.
I finally gave up on this and we only use this as a DVD player.As a DVD player, it has been reliable.It is easy to use and even our kids can use the remote.No complaints there.
I have to say, if you are looking for a good DVD Recorder, you may not want to consider a Samsung.This model, anyway.

I have not tried Samsung. Too bad you had a bad experience from their product.
