Having used the Samsung SC-D353 on an extended loan, I have found it to be quite versatile and adept at amateur and medium quality video recording. This is a miniDV tape based player so you will have to have a means of transferring tape data to another format if you wish to, for instance, view content on your dvd player or computer. There is an integrated webcam function that can allow for use of the SC-D353 as an streaming video recording source. Bundled with the video camera are the usual accessories and I received a tripod with mine. It is quite sturdy and helps for recording steadily in most situations. Overall, this is a moderate quality camera and I would not recommend it to semi-professionals hoping to record short films or the like. At best, this is a home video camcorder.
