Samsung Sch U740 Cellphone By SandwichBender on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Samsung SCH-u740 is a relatively new Verizon cellphone. It sports a unique dual hinge design that allows it to open vertically as well as horizontally, giving it the best of both worlds. It sports a full QWERTY keyboard, so that when opened horizontally, it makes for an excellent phone to text with. When opened vertically, the number buttons are located on the far left of the keyboard on grayed out keys, so that when the phone is opened vertically, they're easily noticeable. However, not being a full-on texting phone, the keys are a little on the small side.

Aside from the innovative and practical design, the u740 functions beautifully. It supports most things that you would expect a cellphone to, such as MP3 ringtones and Bluetooth, as well as Verizon exclusives such as VCast and Mobile Web.

Samsung has struck a wonderful balance here, creating a phone that is ideal for the individual who loves to text as much as talk. I've tinkered with a quite a few cellphones over the years and I can honestly say this is my favorite.
