While in San Diego we had to stop at the famous San Diego Zoo.

I have heard many things about this zoo and I was not disappointed. The place is very clean. When I am at a zoo I like to see how the animals are kept. I am happy to say all the exhibits I saw were clean and spacious.

When you arrive go to the Panda Bears right away. It gets very busy as the day goes on. When went there right when the zoo opened and headed to the Pandas. There was only a handful of people there and the panda bears were very active at that time. When we went by later in the afternoon it was crowded and the pandas were just laying around.

Also make sure to go to the Polar Bear exhibit right after the pandas. This is a very busy area. The polar bears have a nice size exhibit. When we were there we were able to watch the two polar bears play and swim around.

The guided bus tour was worth the extra price. If you can get a seat on the top level of the bus. It's a nice view from up there. Our guide was OK, he probably could have been a bit more friendly but he wasn't too bad.

We went on the Skyfari. It is a scenic view of the area. It takes you from one end of the park to the other. It is not a one time use so that is really nice, use it throughout your day to go back and forth between the two ends of the park. The car seats 4 people so if you are bigger then a family of 4 you will be split up.

I thought the sea lion show was fun and entertaining. I saw a lot of little kids laughing and even us older folks.

The monkey trail was really entertaining too. Some of the animals on this trail are very active and get quite the audience. We spent quite a while on the Monkey trail.

I thought the underwater viewing of the hippos was a nice plus. They look so graceful when they swim.

I also enjoyed the Koala exhibit. They were pretty active when we got there. There was a worker with the koalas and answering questions. I am not sure if there is always a worker there or we just got lucky.

The San Diego Zoo is a very nice zoo. It is a huge zoo, so have good walking shoes. The zoo is hilly and some of those hills are steep. The nice thing is some areas have moving sidewalks for those really steep hills. The food here is expensive and pretty basic, but it was edible.

I really enjoyed our visit to the zoo. I could have spent another day here just watching the different animals.
