Santa Keeps the Light On!
By Alice onNovember is the start of craft shows and beautiful handmade items by local crafters. Each year I purchase a hand painted Santa original from one Michigan crafter. You have to be there early, her items usually sell out within the first hour.
This year I purchased this beautiful little lamp with the three dimensional face of Santa Claus on the base. It's unusual and one I plan to put on a small side table in my family room.
Check out the pictures and why I like this:
**From the base to the top of the lamp it is 17" high, the base measures 10" tall and the shade is 7" high by 8-1/2" wide.
**The detailed painting on this is perfection. There are several layers of colors starting with burgundy on the bottom, to a stripe of honey colored wood, than a cute candy cane stripe, a layer of blue which is followed by another layer of the honey colored wood.
**The face of Santa Claus is done in a three dimensional look with the mouth, mustache, cute little cheeks and nose molded onto the front of the lamp. The eyes are painted a beautiful shade of blue. The back of Santa's head is painted in burgundy with white snowflakes and stars which match the shade.
**The shade is a burgundy material hand painted with white snowflakes and yellow stars.
Altogether this makes for a great conversational piece during the holidays and will brighten up an otherwise dark little corner. It plugs into a normal 120v outlet and takes a 25 to 40w bulb.
I highly recommend checking crafters in your area for unique and beautiful gifts for your home or to give to someone special as a gift.
