Saving Money With The Seal A Meal By JillJan on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

We just recently bought a deep freeze for our home. I wanted to be able to buy in bulk so that I could cut down on my grocery bills. So we purchased the Seal-A-Meal. This appliance allows you to buy in bulk and then seal it up and freeze it (for up to 3 years on some items). What we do is we go to Sam's Club and we buy our meat in bulk. The we come home and divide it up into however many meals it will make up. I put the meat in the Seal-A-Meal freezer bags and seal it up. It pulls out all of the the air from the bag and makes it ready to be frozen. I then just place it in the deep freeze and we are ready to go. When it comes time to use the meat I just thaw it out and cut the bag just below the seal. The bags are washable and reusable. The actual sealing process takes about 15 seconds. Huge time saver. I also seal up Potato Chip bags, cereal bags, frozen veg. bags. The possibilities are unlimited.
