The Fujitsu ScanSnap S500 is a remarkable piece of office equipment. Although a fairly pricey $400, it has paid for itself over and over in the year we have had it in my husband's office. One press of the scan button and you turn paper into PDF's. It can scan one side or two at a speed of about 18 pages per minute. ScanSnap will do color or black and white. Easy to use software gets it installed and up and running quickly.
The ScanSnap is so compact I have it sitting on my desk. It functions as a copier for me and is slowly turning our office into a paperless office. I have scanned many documents that we probably will never need again, but then on the other hand . . . After scanning those types of documents, I store them in our online storage space.
The only drawback to the ScanSnap, and I do mean only, is that sometimes two pages will go through at the same time and I have to start over. This usuually happens when I have failed to fan the pages. I will also say I have scanned 25 pages at one time with no problem.
For the small business, this is a fantastic product!
