Schwinn 113 Upright Exercise Bike By zathras on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have had the Schwinn 113 Upright Exercise Bike for about 6 months now and it is an "OK" piece of workout equipment. First off assembly is fairly easy but the packing materials should be a little more stout. I had one piece that arrived broken but a quick call to Schwinn got a replacement to me quickly.

It is a fairly straightforward exercise bike with a number of adjustments and modes including heart rate based programs. One nice feature is it detects BMI. Unfortunately when you are seated it is very hard to see the panel and the small fan is so far away it can barely be felt.

I really like that it is almost completely silent - the only noise being the ocassional beeps from the interface.

The stock seat is pretty comfortable, I've tried several others to see if I could find something better but haven't come across a better one. If I were buying a bike today I would probably order the recumbent model of this same bike (the 213) since it has the panel at a better angle and has a more chair like seat - since I haven't spent much time on bikes I think that would have been a better choice and resulted in fewer "saddle sores."
