Schwinn Roadbikes - Best of the best

Purchased at: Canadian Tire     Price: $399.99 CAD

A few summers ago I decided to get into cycling. I went out and bought a Schwinn road bike after browsing the internet for a cheap, decent bike.

The bike itself has 24 gears which means you can reach a fairly fast speed. Also everything on the bike is easily adjustable which is comforting if you are stuck out on the road. As a nice security feature the front wheel easily detaches so no one can make a swift getaway with your bike.

A few cons about the bike is that it is composed of aluminum, which isn't the greatest material for a road bike because it tends to be kind of heavy. When you have to carry the bike over long distances it tends to be very tiring. Also I find the toe clips on the pedals to be very uncomfortable. I find myself peddling on the other side of the peddle just so I can avoid the toe clips altogether.

For the price that you pay I think this is a perfect beginner bike. It allows a novice to get accustomed to the style of road biking while at the same time still providing an enjoyable ride. If you were an intermediate or an expert at road biking then I wouldn't recommend this product to you, I would suggest you go with a more expensive model.

How Schwinn has fallen! But at least they are still in the game.
