Scotch Bubble Mailer By Tina Lehman on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I occasionally sell children's clothing on eBay. When searching for a durable, inexpensive mailer, I found the Scotch Bubble Mailers.
I like these mailers because they have a layer of bubble wrap lining the inside of them, giving a bit of protection to the goods inside. To seal them all you have to do is pull the covering off the adhesive strip and push the sticky part against the other side of the envelope- no licking required!
I was surprised at how much you can shove into one of these things! I occasionally have to put a piece of tape around the sealed flap if there is too much stuff inside, but that is more for my peace of mind than any issues I've had.
The only drawback of these mailers is they have a To: sqaure pre-printed on them. It likely doesn't matter, but I find myself frequently having to extend my writing beyond the confines of the box. If you're not as anal as me, this likely won't bother you.
If you purchase these singly they are much more expensive than if you purchase them in bulk at a store like Sam's. In fact, if you need more than four or five, it will probably cost you just as much to buy gox of 24.
I love these mailers to ship things in! Between the size 2 and size 5 mailers, these are all I use. I highly recommend them.

I send alot out by the PO, I go through alot of these,LOL.
A simple product, but you gave a lot of great information on them. The advice on buying in bulk is very helpful!
I use these too. I totally agree with you about the "To" line. It is much to small to write an address on them.
These are great envelopes to use for sending out things. I too sell children's clothing on e-bay and have used these mailers with great success. The bubble wrap inside does provide extra protection and they are easy to seal. I too have had to tape the end if I pack the mailer a little too much! Thanks for the info to purchase them in bulk at Sams as I usually buy them singly. Think of all the money I could have saved. I definetely need to take a trip to Sams soon. The pre stamped square for your address is a little small and I too usually go out of the space provided. Thanks much for the helpful info. Nice job!
I too like these envelopes. I think they offer good security for the product you mail.
I use these mailers alot also, and I agree with you, the pre-printed square on front is a waste. I usually have to put a shipping label over it anyhow. They are great mailers tho!
LOL, I would find it a bit disturbing to write outside the box too:0) Sounds like a great way to send your clothes through the mail though!
I was wondering how I was going to ship all the baby clothes I want to sell - thanks for the recommendation!
I like these mailers. I use them quite often.
Thank you for including the comment that it is likely that a box of 24 of these bubble mailers at Sam's Club cost about as much as 4 or 5 single bubble mailers of the same size elsewhere.
