I needed a product that would make applying various products to the lawn quickly and simply. I did not want to pay a large amount of money for a big broadcast spreader so I when I found this little hand held one I thought it would be a pretty effective tool for my yard. My yard is a fairly small one in comparison to many so I was pretty sure this would help me take care of business pretty quickly. I was able to spread seed or whatever else I needed to put on the lawn in a matter of minutes. This is certainly much faster than just doing it by hand and it broadcast the materials quite evenly. You could never get this even of a spread by hand on your best day. This tool is made of a hard plastic, is easy to store because of its small size and appears to be very well made. I have had this spreader for a few years now and I am very satisfied with all the results.

We only need a small spreader too. I put off purchasing one and have been doing it by hand because I never imagined they were this inexpensive. Thnaks for the info.
I have about 3/4 of an acre of lawn. About how long would it take for me to cover my entire lawn with grass seed? You say it's light-weight, is it less than 5lbs???
