When I was ready to apply Scotts Turfbuilder with Plus 2 Weed Control to my lawn, I decided to spring for Scotts Turfbuilder Edgeguard Mini Fertilizer Spreader to make my job a lot easier. The bin will hold most of a 5,000 square foot coverage bag of Scotts lawn fertilizer without spilling. And the Edgeguard feature made it easy to apply the fertilizer at the edge of my driveway, sidewalk and gardens. I followed the directions on the back of the fertilizer package concerning where to set the spreader volume dials for best coverage, so I didn't have to guess.
The Scotts Turfbuilder Edgeguard Mini Fertilizer Spreader can be set to spread as wide as 5', which works out to about 2' on either side of the spreader when you're pushing it in front of you. You squeeze the handle when you want to spread the fertilizer, and let it go when you want to stop the spread. The Scotts Turfbuilder Edgeguard Mini Fertilizer Spreader gave me a nice even spread of fertilizer with weed control throughout my lawn, and it can be used for spreading grass seed as well. The handle folds down for convenient storage so that it doesn't take up much space in my garage. It was worth the extra money to pick up a Scotts Turfbuilder Edgeguard Mini Fertilizer Spreader to make my landscaping work just that much easier.
