Every year we go to the coast to relax and renew. My favorite gift shop is Bojon's SurfShack. On several occasions I saw these shell wind chimes, but it wasn't until I bought this chime that I knew why most gift shops by the Gulf have them.

The spiral shell wind chime is fashioned with a series of wire, heavy weight fishing line, and shells. My chime is mainly white with a spiral of teal painted shells rising to the top. The painted shells are the only reason I have lowered the rating on this review.

I would have preferred they didn't paint the shells. These are meant to be displayed. Most people would display something like this outdoors. The paint is fading from exposure, which is really too bad. It was not until the shells started to fade that I noticed they were painted.

Even with the fading I love my spiral shell wind chime. It reminds me of all the wonderful times at the coast all year round.

Note: The shell wind chime does not chime or ring. It makes more of a brushing or clicking noise in the wind.
