Seal Cd Is Classic Soul By JPnMO on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I first learned of Seal when his song, "Kiss From a Rose" became a hit. I liked his voice and bought the CD, but hadn't paid much attention to him over the years. That changed a couple of days ago when my husband and I were watching Soundstage, a one hour show that features different musical acts each week. I saved the Seal concert on Tivo and we finally got around to watching it. As soon as he started singing, I wished I had seen it sooner.

Seal's new CD is called "Soul" and that's what he delivered on this show.I loved every minute of it.I couldn't keep my body still as he performed classics such as Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come". Other favorites include "I Can't Stand The Rain" and "People Get Ready", along with others too numerous to list.

Last night, my husband surprised me with the CD when he came home from work. I'm listening to it now for the 3rd time. He covers songs by Wilson Pickett, Al Green and others who produced great songs in years past. Normally, I don't like cover albums and I was prepared to dislike this one, but it didn't happen. I love this CD. Produced by David Foster, the collaboration with Seal is wonderful and "Soul" is a perfect name for the title.

Being a Floridian, we listen to a LOT of Seal around here. He really does have a unique voice. Very enjoyable
