Sears Rubber Hose - A Must Own
By kateri27 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011I bought the 50 foot rubber Craftsman hose for full price at Sears three years ago.I have to say I have been very pleased with the quality and durability of this hose.
This is the first hose I have purchased that will not kink like the vinyl hoses.That is the beauty of owning a rubber hose! It is made of 100% rubber(no filler like a few other hoses we have purchased) and the hose itself is a hexagon shape.It is a simple black color and really smooth to the touch.It will not hurt your hand or rub it raw when you wind the hose back up.
The hose stays flexible up to a temperature of- 25 degrees.It is also capable of handling water up to a temperature of 160 degrees.I actually leave the hose out all winter and have never had so much as a leak or tear in it.
The hose has a crush resistant brass coupler which has never leaked.
My only complaint about this hose is the length.It is available in a 100 foot model which would be more suitable for my needs.
Update On May 19, 2008: I just saw this hose on sale at Sears for $14.99.I almost bought another one the price is just so great!
We do need a new hose. The one that we have now is just so old that it is starting to crack in some areas. We don't have any leaks yet, but... who wants to wait for that to happen?
Lastyear I bet my son ruined atleast 5 hoses, he would turn the water on and leave it on for hours because he "forgot", sometimes all night!Needless to say we had ruptures galore.
Nothing worse than a hose that kinks! It's fantastic that you're able to leave this outside in the coldest of winters!

I own one rubber hose, not sure of the brand (it was a gift), but it sure beats the others in quality and kink-resistance!

This certainly sounds like a great hose. Sears is a good place to get items like this. They seem to last and are made of durable material. Thanks for sharing the information.
I hate when they get all kinked up. I am glad you found a wonderful hose at such a great price.
My parents have a large yard so they always have needed a long hose. Thank you for sharing.
I also prefer long hose to shorter one except for rolling it up after use. thanks for sharing
