I have just recently purchased a Sears Window Unit Air Conditioner. It is a 10,000 BTU unit, Model No. 580.76100. The unit was easy to install. Just set it in, close the window down on the unit, slide out the Side Curtain Assembly units, brace it outside and it's installed. The unit has a remote control which comes WITH batteries so is ready to use. It has 4 temperature settings, a High and Low speed for fan to cool and a High and Low fan speed for Fan Only. It also has a timer which is simple to operate. You just press the timer button to the number of hours when you want the unit to come on. It comes with 1, 3, 6, or 10 hours. This unit is cooling an area that previously took 2 units to cool in 30 minutes. This unit is quieter than the 2 other brands that I have used in the past.
