Seasonique Birth Control Pills

A three month's supply of this oral contraceptive cost me between $180 - $190 (sorry, I can not remember the exact amount). I do not have insurance, so my main complaint about this prescription is that it is a relatively large expense for me right now. However, I absolutely LOVE not having to deal with the inconvenience of a monthly period. You have only four menstrual periods per year, while taking Seasonique. The risks are the same as with any oral contraceptive (mainly heart attack, stroke, and blood clots). The only side effect I experienced was weight gain. I've done research and, apparently, there is no evidence that oral contraceptives cause weight gain, but I disagree. I've been the same size my entire adult life, I have had no change in diet or exercise routine, and I put on 15 pounds the first time I took Seasonique. The weight gain was gradual, but I was a bit concerned, because I wasn't sure if it was going to cap out or if I was just going to keep growing wider and wider. I stopped taking Seasonique, and most of the weight gradually came off. Upon resuming taking Seasonique, I gradually gained a few pounds, but that was all this time. Each pill pack is a three month supply, so it is not a round dial type dispenser, as oral contraceptives normally are. You can not start on any day you choose, you have to start on a Sunday. For more information and pictures of the pill pack, visit the Seasonique website at https://www.seasonique.com/.
