See's Chocolates: A Family Tradition
By Candida Eittreim onThere are so many designer and high end chocolates out there, some of them exquisite and very high priced. In our family the choice is always See's Candy. Ever since I was a little girl See's has been a regular part of our holidays and celebrations. The white black and gold boxes just seemed to beg to be opened. I remember the look of utter pleasure on my father's face whenever he got his box of See's for his birthday. My sister and brothers always looked forward to getting those delicious See's lollipops. Chocolate, Vanilla or Butterscotch, it didn't matter, they were heaven and lasted a long time.
Not long after I married, I bought David, my husband, his first 5 pound custom box of See's. He had never had the pleasure of biting into the creamy Bordeaux or taste the crunch of a pecan nut log. The look on his face remains one of my fondest memories. It was priceless watching him choose between the wonderful raspberry creme or an intense bite of fudgy peanut roll.
See's Candy maintains a consistently high quality and varied assortment of chocolates. There's nothing cute or trendy about See's, just honest to goodness excellent chocolates. You can walk into a See's Candy store anywhere and order just the right custom assortment, from 1 pound to 5 pounds at no extra cost. I have one relative that loves only creams, so when I buy her her box of See's, I choose exactly the pieces she wants. The boys love the dark chocolates and nuts 'n chews, so their boxes are handpicked to contain only what they want.
We all love the See's lollipops and order them about twice a year. They've added a latte flavor we all love. The lollipops are $13.75 per pound box. You can purchase the assorted lollipops or choose your favorite flavor. They also offer the same basic lollipop in a bite sized piece for those who don't like lollipops, but still want the flavor sensation. Little Pops come in 8 ounce bags for $6.50, making them perfect for the office.
Since Mary See opened her first store in 1921, See's has been giving us the very best chocolates at unbeatable prices. In the process, her candy has become a treasured centerpiece in many American homes.

Where can I find this candy? It sounds wonderful and what great memories you have of growing up with it as a treat. I love that you can choose your favorites! Send me some? LOL
OHHH! It is soooooo good Jan. You can find it online too at www.sees.com. They are worldwide and all over the US offline. Try 'em, you'll love them. The truffles are too die for. Next time I order I'll send you their signature lollipops.
My father got me into Godiva, but I got bored of it. This one sounds like an interesting chocolate to try.
I've never had this brand of chocolates, but I've seen the See's candy factory on the Unwrapped show on the Food Network and everything looks so yummy! Glad to hear things taste just as good as they look!
See's has a little kiosk in my local mall near Christmas time. I've always passed it by because there is a Godiva store nearby. Next year, I'll definitely be giving See's a try!
Do you see me drooling over here!? I had a friend in San Diego who sent me a box of these-I had never had them before & were they ever rich & delicious!! Yum-MEE!! Are you eating some right now?!
