Sega Genesis Megadrive By mdonaghey075 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
The sega gensis is a 16bit games console which was also released as megadrive in other countries such as the united kingdom it was the best games console of its time and is still highly regarded for the start of some game franchises most notably sonic the hedgehog who had several releases on the console in cluding: sonic the hedgehog, Sonic the hedgehog 2, Sonic and knuckles, Sonic spinball etc.
Other great games released for the console include streets of rage which had 3 in the series and road rash both of which are now discontinued unfortunately.
The megadrive supported 2 controlers and ran in to the television via an auxiliary cable.
The megadrives and gensis's were released around the globe starting in japan in 1988 in japan right through to 1990 in which it was released in europe.
The console in my honest opinion is one of the best of all time and will always be regarded that way as the gameplay of the games was phenomenal
