Sending a Little Sunshine

I needed a card today to encourage a pre-teen girl through a difficult time.It needed to be cute, but yet caring, and not too childish.I found two possibilities by American Greetings.

The card that I chose has a series of three pictures on the front of a cute caterpillar lassoing the sun and then sticking it in a mailbox.Inside, the caterpillar is smiling and the card says Sending a little sunshine your way.

I was very pleased with this because it wasnt too mushy, or too grown-up. And cards for children were mostly confined to birthdays and get-well cards. Most of the cards that I looked at were just not suitable. There were two complete aisles of cards in the store, and of all of those choices I only saw two that might work for my young friend, and both were by American Greetings.

Also, a major color of the card is lime green which is very popular right now with young people. The card background is yellow- the photo doesn't look right.

This is a 5.5 x 8.5 inch card, on card stock not paper, with a glossy finish.

I love American Greetings cards, and buy them regularly when I don't use their online venue. This is not only age apropriate, but feels "adult" enough, not to offend tender pre-teen sensibilities.
