Reviewing: Glaxo Smith Kline Sensodyne Maximum Strength
Purchased at: Wal Mart     Price: $4.72 USD

I finally had 4 of my molars capped because they had worn down over the years and from everyday eating. One of my molars was actually cracked and the pain I had on the right side of my mouth was incredible. I started using Sensodyne for the pain but my husband told me not to use it too often. So in between normal toothpaste brushings, I had to deal with the pain again. Air, cold and heat felt the same to my tooth - it just hurt with a stabbing pain.

I had asked the Dentist at the time he was making me new enamel caps as to which toothpaste I could use. He gave me a sample of Sensodyne Maximum Strength and said it was perfectly fine to use it every day. YAY! Even though I knew after I got the caps I would no longer have the pain, I wanted to use something he recommended.

I have used Sensodyne Maximum Strength for one and a half years now and still do not feel any pain. My right bottom molar had to be ground down almost to the gumline (I know ouch), but the new tooth he was able to build right there while I waited, was amazing. I got to watch the whole procedure.

My husband has started to like using the Sensodyne but sometimes goes back to his favorite brand. This one I am reviewing is my favorite flavor, which is "Fresh Impact". It is a mix of paste and gel, in a minty flavor. I don't like the all gel one much at all and my husband does. I guess it's a personal preference thing, but we at least compromised, so we each get half of what we like in this toothpaste.

Sensodyne toothpastes contain no sugar.

I rated the packaging a 4, because I prefer the cap to be attached. I am lazy when it comes to screwing caps back onto tubes. As I get older, I seem to care less about such mundain things and a flip top would just make this easier for me.

I had a toothache and my dentist gave me some of this to rub on my tooth a few times a day and it worked great.

I know! And I thought you could only use it for two weeks but my Dentist said I could make it my daily toothpaste. I can't believe I dealt with so many years of tooth pain. Even my husband uses it when his teeth start bothering him.
