Settlers Of Catan Board Game By k0b3x on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
Settlers of Cattan is probably the best unknown game in the United States. I was introduced to this game by my younger brother who heard from his tutor teacher. This game is a very unique board game because every game is different. This game revolves around hexagonal shaped pieces which piece together differently each time. Each of these pieces are a certain resource that is required to build settlements and cities. The first to ten points wins the game. Since the resource pieces are different each time, it requires a different strategy each time and trading is very common. The game is very interesting and challenging while fun at the same time. The uniqueness of the game won it game of the year in both Germany and the United States. The downside of the game may be the fact that you HAVE TO HAVE three players and a maximum of four. There are expansions available but that is just extra money you have to spend. Also, since there are many different pieces invovled, you can easily lose pieces that are essential to the gameplay. Other than these issues, the game is very fun and challenging and will never get old.

I just played Settlers of Catan for the first time this weekend and loved it! My friend brought it over and yes your are right there are a lot of pieces that could get lost. I also don't like the fact that you can only play with three or four people, but this game is very inexpensive compaired to a lot of other games out there so I feel it is a good buy!
Sounds different, never even heard of it before. I will have to check it out. I love strategy games. They rock!
never heard of this game before. I love strategy games so maybe I should check this out
This sounds like fun. I have never heard of it but I am going to check it out! Thanks.
I have heard of this and wondered if it was fun. I'm really itching to try it, but the 3 players will be a problem. Hopefully I'll run into someone who has it some time when I have time for games! Thanks for the info!
Kind of a bummer that you have to have at least 3 or 4 players.
You're right, I have never heard of this game before. It sounds interesting. Thanks for the information.
This is another one I have never heard of, the 3 player minium could cause a problem for some folks.
Well your right about it being unknow. It does sound interesting though. Do you happen to know the age recomendations for this game?
This sounds like a very unique game and something I would enjoy playing. It is nice to have a little variety every now & then
