Sharp Aquos Review From A Longtime User. By YodaGoneMad on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I purchased my Sharp Aquos 26 inch GA5U television around 2 years ago as a PC monitor / game screen. It happened to be one of only 3 that would fit in my desk, and met my needs perfectly with support for a PC connection and a low gamer friendly response time. The GA5U has a wide variety of connections, with a DVI port, HDMI port, 3 component connections and 2 S-Video/composite connections. This allows me to easily hook up 4 games consoles plus a PC, and still have slots to spare. The picture quality is very good, and ghosting is near non-existent. In just the right circumstances a minute amount of ghosting can be seen, but it is very minor. On the sound front the speakers work well, and the virtual surround sound is effective. It support Pro Logic 2, which is a nice touch. However, i am a little disappointed it does not support 5.1 over HDMI either to convert it to virtual surround, or to act as a pass through for an optical cable. The remote is effective, it doesn't eat batteries (i am still using the original ones), and has a very nifty back light feature. Overall, i would recomend a Sharp Aquos to anyone in the market for an LCD TV, the picture quality is great, and the extra features and high overall quality make this a great television.
