Sharp Carousel microwave oven
By JOEY onWe purchased two of these microwave ovens to help us heat up food for our clients and ourselves at work. First of all let me say these have some very nice special features such as sensor cook, instant action and compu defrost. These were inexpensive models and in the back of my mind I wonder how long they will last. At present they are working well and heat up food very quickly but one already has part of the lighted readout burned out. I am thinking they used an old fashion light in there instead of a light emitting diode. At any rate it shouldn't have burned out that quickly. They are about two years old. By comparison I have a microwave in my kitchen at home that is 23 years old and the display works perfectly as does everything else on it.The particular units in this review are manufactured in Thailand. Not too bad of a product overall however I would have to recommend purchase only if money is a huge factor in the decision. For most folks I would steer them towards a higher quality model.
We bought a Sharp and had very mixed results while using it. On the positive side it heated foods and liquids extraordinarily fast, and thoroughly. The panel buttons were easy to read and use. On the con side, the heating thingy blew, causing a minor fire, and the seal cracked after only 6 months use.
