Shaun of The Dead: Movie Review
By TheDude onShaun of The Dead, if you couldn't guess is a spoof of Dawn of The Dead and is the story of an even less than average "Joe"; Shaun (Simon Pegg). Shaun is seemingly oblivious to everything that goes on around him, has a dead-end job at an electronic store and his relationship with his girlfriend (Kate Ashfield) is beginning to rapidly decline. But, it's not like it's the end of the world, or is it? Well, in fact it is. Shaun and his dim-witted friend Ed (Nick Frost) soon find themselves fighting off zombies who are unfortunately not vegetarians. Shaun embarks on a mission to save his mom and his girlfriend, and plans to kill his stepfather who he believes is now a zombie. He plans to hold up in the Winchester; Shaun and Ed's favorite pub, and "wait for all of this to blow over", but he quickly comes to the conclusion that things may not be as simple as previously thought. Shaun of the Dead is considered a Comedy/Horror and was released in September of '04. It was nominated for 16 awards and won 6 including the IHG Award for Best Movie and the Empire Award for Best British Film. Truly a piece of "Fried Gold" as Simon Pegg, the star of Shaun of The Dead may say. This movie is absolutely hilarious from beginning to end and is a must-see.

Every time this movie comes on tv it captures my attention. I am not a gory, blood and guts type viewer but this movie is hysterical. The first time I saw it was with my dad and even though he doesn't live close by I just have to watch it and laugh at all the silly things in this show that we loved.
