Shaving on the way to work
By jb_shops onYeah, I am that guy. You know the one that is shaving while sitting in incredibly ridiculous traffic congestion during my morning commute. No it is not with a straight razor or one of the ten blade "disposables". :-D It is with my Braun 8585 electric razor.
I have a heavy beard. When I want or need a really close shave I use a blade, but for daily maintenance this electric razor gives a nice smooth shave without pulling my skin off with my whiskers.
The nice feature with the Braun shavers is their base. The base, although a little bulky in size, acts as a cradle charger and cleaner. One you drop the unit into the base it does a quick analysis to read if it needs a quick clean, something intensive, or maybe something in the middle. Then automatically starts its cleaning process utilizing a cleaning solution cartridge. Now the razor may turn on and off automatically while going through a cleaning cycle, so don't be alarmed if it starts up unexpectedly.
The head contours to the face and gets the difficult to reach parts around the nose and mouth fairly well. There is a rigid setting if you don't wish for the head to float. The third setting is to slide up the side clippers. This is the weakest point on the unit. It is very had to see and control the clipper - especially while driving.
The battery lasts about 1 week's worth of shavings and can receive a 3min quick charge.

Ha ha, yes I'll bet it is difficult to trim those sideburns neatly while steering, looking in the mirror, drinking your coffee, watching traffic and listening to your radar detector and the morning news!
You are defininately NOT the only one shaving while stuck in traffic. My husband keeps his electric razer in his car and uses every morning while waiting at lights, etc.
I can see this scene in a movie. You may be the only one!
Sounds great for those on the go types. I'm usually like this, but being a girl, I won't be shaving while driving. This razor seems like a good deal for what you get.
Sounds like a great product - especially to use while driving :)
