Shear Splendor Age Defying Hair Marinating Oil By hlmdcm on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My best hair conditioner ever was Philosophy Breaking Point conditioner - primarily a safflower oil and jojoba oil blend, my hair was left soft, shiny, and the oil largely would soak into my hair so it was not really oily, I could even use it in smaller increments and blow dry it in as a styling agent. Then they stopped making Breaking Point and instead made Shear Splendor Age-Defying Hair "Marinating" Oil. If I never tried the Breaking Point, I would probably be happy with this product. It does leave hair softer - especially very dry hair - but Breaking Point was made so that you could leave it in your hair overnight so it did not get all over your face and pillow, and this product is too sticky for that. It is pretty effective on dry hair, but it is lacking some of the ingredients that made me love the Breaking Point. If you were a fan of Breaking Point and have not come across another product you like, or you are not fond of any straight safflower and jojoba mix you might try, then this is a good option for you.
