Sheryl Crow got rid of Lance Armstrong, became a mother, and put out a terrific new cd that goes back to her musical roots. Detours is reminiscent of her first cd, full of well written original songs that just make you want to sing along.

The songs on this cd show that Sheryl Crow is no longer a lovelorn fool that she came across in her last release, Wildflower. The new songs on Detours are those of a strong, independent woman, such as 'Diamond Ring' and 'Now that your Gone'.

Listening to the cd, it is obvious that Sheryl Crow has dealt with all life has handed her and now she's singing about it. Make it Go Away is nicknamed the radiation song - Sheryl Crow is a breast cancer survivor. There is even a special song called Wyatt's Lullaby that was specifically written for her new son.
