OK. How long do we need to wear out maternity shirts/blouses/tops? Maybe 5 or 7 months? Usually less than a year, regardless. Well, here comes Motherhood Maternity. Walking passed the store at the mall and looking in the window you see tons of stylish looking outfits for the mom-to-be, and being stylish while carting around a belly-full of 40 extra pounds is not easy! Motherhood offers what looks to be stylish and trendy maternity tops for $30 and under - usually under.

I purchased a tan, flowing style shirt to wear during the last few months of my pregnancy. Price? $12!!! What a steal for such stylish maternity wear! Yeah, not! I will say that the first wear of the shirt was terrific. The fit was nice, the fabric while I knew it was subpar quality, felt OK to wear out to run errand. I got all this for $12??!! Terrific!

Now, let's wash that shirt according to the instructions on the tag. Into the washer with like colors in cold water, then dry on low. I swear that what came out of my dryer was not the shirt I purchased! I could not believe the amount of wrinkling even though I took it out right at the end of the de-wrinkle cycle! Let's try this on again, perhaps it just needs an iron. Nope! No such luck. The top was now pulled to one side, some of the stitching was coming loose and it seems the fabric shrunk in some places and stretched out in others.

I will say that Motherhood has a terrific return policy though. I was given a refund for the shirt when I returned it.

Should you have a function or special event to attend and know you will just wear the shirt for one day and need something cheap, give them a try. Otherwise, spend a litte more and hit Pea in the Pod's sale rack!
