Shoreline Dark Chocolate Covered Cranberries By Joan Young on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

These are not always available, but they are worth hunting for!

This is a Meijer product, but we can only find them in the largest of the Meijer stores, such as in Grand Rapids, Michigan. These are dried cranberries, covered with dark chocolate. The cranberries are very moist, and the dark chocolate just complements the tart flavor perfectly. The moisture in the cranberries make them softer than you might expect. For example, chocolate covered raisins are usually very chewy. These are less so.

Hubby bought the last two-pound tub, and can't remember what he spent, but insists that it wasn't over $5.00. This makes these really reasonably priced.

A serving is about 16 pieces, having 140 calories, with 15-16 servings in the tub. One of the pictures shows one serving in a small pile. Of course both the dark chocolate and cranberries are rich in anti-oxidants, so if you have to have a chocolate treat, these are better than many choices.

These are actually produced in Traverse City, Michigan by Shoreline Fruit, so for those who are trying to eat products with more of a local footprint these are great for Michigan residents.

All I can say is, “Yummy!”

Update Posted on :

These turned up in our Meijer this week. They are SO good. Now our only problem is to ration them so that we don't pig out!
