I had been noticing a new product on the shelves of my supermarket where I shop. The product was Shout Color Catcher sheets. These sheets are suppose to catch the dye that is in the water in the washer while laundry is being done. I was very skeptical about this product but I decided to try it. The sheets come in a box of 24 for $4. 12 and are off white in color. You put one sheet in a washer or two sheets if it's a large capacity washer. add the water, detergent and clothing. When the washer is done you take the sheet out and throw it away.

My washer is large capacity so I used two sheets in a load of blue jeans where one pair of jeans was brand new. I threw in a white sock just to experiment. The sheets did indeed a catch some color however the sock turned blue anyway.

This product does warn on the box that they cannot guarantee the sheets will work when there is clothing in the load that produces a large amount of dye.

It would appear that this product is only going to be effective when used with clothing that has already been washed. I feel that you better off just saving lawyer money and sorting you clothes properly before washing them.
