Shutterfly photo books

I had never tried making a photobook before last year when I won an online contest for a free one from Shutterfly. I had always wanted to make one and thought it would be the perfect gift for my daughter to give her father as a Christmas present since I got all the photos of her growing up when we divorced. My daughter helped me upload photos we had on our computer and camera and we scanned in a bunch that we took out of old photo albums and added them to a folder on Shutterfly. They have several choices of book sizes and then many themes of style you can choose the book to be in. Once you have your pictures uploaded to the site, you choose the size and style of the book you want and you are on your way. From there you choose layouts, frames, paper colors and in no time you have created a beautiful keepsake. I am not a computer person at all and never thought I would be able to do it but it was so easy. Since the first book was so easy, I have made 3 others. The quality of the paper is very good and they ship very fast. When I have had a question and either emailed them or called they are very quick to respond. Also once you sign up on thier site, they send out coupons and specials often for books as well as prints and other services they offer. I can not wait to make another.

Update On Nov 12, 2009: I just finished working on another photo book. Since I originally wrote this reviews, Shutterfly has added many new background choices and new font and frame color choices. Make sure to register on the site and they will send you special offers and discounts including an occasional offer for free photo books. They are easy and fun to make and make excellent gifts.

Update On Feb 27, 2010: Last month I got another offer to do a free photo book from Shutterfly. They have added some more backgrounds and items to use to make it special which is nice. I completed it and turned in the order and it was on my doorstep in 4 days. Their turn around time is excellent and the quality of the books is amazing. Since I do not have as much time as I would like to work on scrapbooking, theses are a great way to get your pictures organized and printed somewhere to tell a story and be enjoyed. They can be completed in only a few hours and after you have signed up on their site, you will get offeres for free photo books too.
