Silicone Bakeware By chesneychic on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I had seen the silicone bake ware at Walmart and decided to give it a try I got a set that included two 9inch square cake pans a Loaf pan, cupcake pan, and a baking sheet liner. I loved that they came in different colors and got the red ones to match my kitchen. The first time I used it I fell in love with it I made a cake and it came out so easy and did not stick at all. At first I was afraid that it was too flimsy and when I went to move the cake it would fall but it held up great. The bake ware is so light that you don't feel like you are even holding anything. I love how easy they are too clean you just have to wipe it and they don't stick like my old bake ware. I also love that it does not rust like my metal bake ware and have now started to get rid of all the metal and go to silicone. The only thing I don't like is that they do not have cookie sheets so I still have to use my metal ones but I use the silicone baking sheet liner on them and it has made cleanup so much easier.

These look really interesting. I'll be interested to learn how they hold up over the years. After all, I'm still using many of my grandmother's metal pans!

I bake alot and really wanted to love the silicone bakeware I purchased but I had nothing but trouble with mine. Glad to hear this worked for you. I'm sticking with the metal stuff rust and all.

I love my silicone pans. They are flimsy but they are so easy to clean.

I got two loaf pans at a rummage sale brand new for $1 a piece. I love them. My old loaf pans always rusted. And it is so easy to remove the baked goods from these silicone ones.

Every time I go to a store and see these I think of getting some, but never knew if they were really worth it. Thanks for the great info! :-)

That would be nice if they made the cookie sheets. Easy clean up is key to cooking products.

the silicone liner ont he metal baking sheets works well, keeps you from needing to just go replace what already works!

My mom bought me a set of these before I got married and I use them all the time. I too was wary at first thinking they just felt flimsy, but they really do a great job my favorite part is that the store easily.

I haven't tried these but am going to next time I am at the store. Love to bake but always have a problem with things sticking, even when I grease the pan. Thanks for the great information!
