Silk Pure Almond Milk By Karen on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I like to have whole grain cereal in the mornings. But I don't always like using regular milk in my cereal, because of fat and cholesterol. So when I saw Silk Pure Almond Milk in HEB, I decided to try it. I was surprised at how tasty it was.

Silk Pure Almond has 90 calories a cup, with no cholesterol and no saturated fat. It comes in two flavors, original and vanilla. I chose the vanilla and found it to be appealing.

Silk Pure Almond Milk is lactose-free and soy-free, plus it is rich in antioxidants (added vitamins and minerals). One glass contains as much calcium and Vitamin D as a glass of regular milk. It tastes good in cereal but I even like drinking it by itself. Sometimes in the evening when I'm relaxing, I'll pour a glass and enjoy it that way. It certainly beats drinking soda.

I know I will be buying more Silk Pure Almond in the future. I tried Silk Soy Milk before and just didn't care for the taste of soy, but this milk will become a permanent part of my diet. And I also feel better knowing that I'm drinking something that is more healthy for me.

I use this too! I buy the no sugar added, use it for cereal, oatmeal and smoothies! It is better for you than soy milk, as soy milk has estrogen like effects and can cause breast cancer according to a few studies! Also good with chocolate Nesquick powder for chocolate vanilla milk!
