Similac Sensitive Powdered Infant Formula By disneymom1980 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

As the mother of two formula fed children, I've been through several brands and types of formula. Some babies are more sensitive to formula than others, and mine happens to be one of those babies. Although we were hoping to avoid the pricey hypoallergenic formula that we were required to use for our first child, I was prepared to have problems using normal milk based formula. Our daughter experienced severe gas and constipation, so our doctor encouraged us to switch to a lactose free formula. We first tried Enfamil A.R., but it did not relieve the gas problems. It turns out that the Enfamil formula is only reduced lactose, but not completely lactose free. We then switched to Similac Sensitive and the gas almost completely disappeared. The powdered form of the formula is easy to take along when traveling and mixes easily. It is not any higher priced than the original milk based formulas.
