Reviewing: Similasan Homeopathic Earache Relief Drops
Purchased at: Drugstores

I have to be up front and say that I am not normally a person who looks for homeopathic remedies of any sort. But a few years ago, my kids' pediatrician suggested that I might want to keep a bottle of Similasan earache drops in my house, just in case a suspected ear infection popped up and I couldn't get the kids to the doctor right away.He is a very well respected physician at one of Boston's most prestigious hospitals, so I took his suggestion and bought some during my next trip to the pharmacy.Well, it's a darn good thing I did!About a month later, my son started complaining of pain in his ear on a Sunday evening (WHY do they always get sick on the weekend?????).The pediatric office had only a nurse on call until Monday. That nurse told me to try Similasan drops until I could get my son to the doc's office the next day.

I put the recommended 3 drops in the affected ear.My son said his ear started to feel better almost immediately! The relief was enough to allow him to get a peaceful night's sleep and get to the doctor's office the next morning, where an infection was confirmed by our pediatrician.

After irrefutable proof of Similasan's effectiveness, I will ALWAYS be sure to keep these "magic" earache drops in our medicine cabinet!

LOL isn't it the truth...seems like they pick the weekends to be ill. I'm so glad that this was suggested by your doctor. They do have some great and inexpensive ideas to treat conditions sometimes. Glad to hear that your son was able to get a good night's rest and see the doctor the next day. What a great suggestion to keep this on hand.

I was just looking at the Similasan eye drops yesterday and wondering if they worked. Now that I know the eardoops work well, I'll have to ask my pediatrician about the others.

I need to get a bottle of these Similasan ear drops for my house and for my son and daughter-in-law's home. Oh, how I remember those times when my children were crying in pain with the onset of an ear infection. These drops could have provided such relief! I will definitely get some for my house in case anyone including my little grandson comes down with an ear infection. Thanks for the great information!

I have been blessed with a kid (Stepson) who rarely gets sick and I think he has never had an earache. But I get them, and of course on a Friday night or Saturday. I use vegetable oil, warmed by a match under a teaspoon. I fill the teaspoon about 1/4 full if I have someone here to put it in my ear, otherwise, I fill it to the top. When it's about body temperature, I lay my head on the opposite side of the ache and put it in. I've added Chamomile tea once and found that helps a bit, but the oil alone helps, too. Great revue. (I want ot know how you get your kid to stay in one position, I wouldn't until I had an earache so bad I burst my ear drum when I was about 12 yrs young.) ;-D

I've never heard of this, but I will make note of it for future reference.

I grew up having terrible earaches. But if they return, which happens a couple times per year, I use these too. They really are great!
