Simply Elegant Stationery By Candida Eittreim on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I was raised in a formal household where we were expected from a very young age to correspond with others on a regular basis. Thank you notes, invitations and letters to relatives overseas were a part of our daily lives. We've always used this stationery for most of our correspondence.
Smythson of Bond Street offers a big variety of stationery for both the home or office. The paper has this solid hefty feel to it that seems to impart an air of elegance to every word you write. Each sheet bears their watermark , lending even more to its overall air of quiet distinction. Good stationery speaks volumes about the writer using it. One friend of mine saves every letter I've ever written her, since our days in school, because she loves the feeling of it so much.
The plain paper comes in 50 sheet packs. You have 10 colors to choose from. The quality never changes with each order. In this day of instant communication a pack would easily last a year or more. But when you do need to write to someone, why not do it in such a way, the recipient knows you care enough to use the best there is.
The matching weighted envelopes are $20.00 for 25, and are well worth the price. If you want something unique in a world where many products are cheaply made and offer very little value for the money, give Smithson of Bond Street a try.

Froggy, I love beautiful stationery. How we correspond with others does make a difference and shows how much we care. I love paper that looks and feels elegant!
My daughter still loves to write notes on stationary. She will include a personal note with every card she gives. This would be a great gift for her. Thanks
Been in that childhood, done that! (Not on quite such high-quality paper though). But class will tell, and nice paper really does say something.
I used to frequent this little shop in Plymouth, MA that had paper that sounds so similar to what you are describing. They sold the paper in individual sheets, and the envelopes the same... They also had an amazing selection of pens. Now I do not have really great handwriting by any means, but I always felt that with a nice fine pen and a beautiful piece of paper anything that I wrote just looked so much better.
I remember when a friend and I would write letters constantly. Now it seems so rare. I hate to see it go. Nothing was better to me than receiving a letter.
These are beautiful. I have always tried to teach my children the importance of sending thank you notes. It makes me really sad when children and adults alike do not seem to send them like we did when I was young.
I enjoy writing letters myself. However, it seems that this beautiful way of keeping in touch is gone in my family. Makes me sad.
This is nice stationary, my children got accustomed to hand writing letters to their cousin recently. But it is sad no one writes anymore, it has gotten too easy to text or e-mail, a doulbe edge sword of sorts :(
very nice
