Sinbad Wasn't As Funny As I Remembered By AmyBrantley on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I've been a big fan of Sinbad for as long as I can remember. Last week I decided to rent Sinbad: Son of a Preacher Man from Netflix. I had seen this HBO special when it first aired in 1996. I remember thinking it was absolutely hilarious, but this viewing only yielded a few chuckles. His bit on walking in Denver was still funny, but other bits had lost their appeal.

I was also disappointed in the quality of this DVD. It was dark and a little fuzzy. The sound was also terrible and I had to turn it up quite a bit, which made me wish the DVD had captioning. Last, but not least, I was disappointed that there weren't any special features on this DVD. It would have been nice to have a few extras.

I still recommend this DVD to anyone that hasn't seen it. It does have it's moments, just not as many as I remember.
