I am a complete beginner at sewing! I always admired people who could sew, and decided that maybe I could teach myself the basics with a good, beginner sewing machine. This Singer is perfect for anyone who doesn't know a whole lot about sewing or sewing machines. It looks very well made, and solid, weighing in at 20 pounds and seems sturdy enough to last for many years. It comes with an instruction manual that is tailored to beginners. There are even arrows on the machine that help to show you how to thread it! It is very user-friendly for someone just starting out. It has 34 different stitch patterns, and even makes buttonholes! I didn't want to spend a whole lot for my first machine, and I am sure that one day, I will outgrow this one as I learn more about sewing. But for now, I am enjoying my Singer very much.
