Coming from a family of sewers, I was always told growing up that Singer Sewing Machines were the best sewing machines on the market. So of course, when it came time for me to buy my own sewing machine, I went to the store with a Singer Sewing Machine in mind.
Being a novice at sewing, I decided to purchase the Singer Simple Model 3116 sewing machine. This sewing machine is easy enough for a novice to use, but would also be great for someone more experienced with a sewing machine.
The machine is set up in a very simplistic format, making it quite easy to use. With the greatest of ease, you can thread both the bobbin and the machine, following the easy to read guide sheet that is included in the box. The Singer Simple machine also comes with a detailed instruction book, including a troubleshooting section, that will help with any problems you may have while sewing your project. With 15 stitch patterns to choose from, the Singer Simple machine can easily handle any project that a novice or even more advanced sewer can throw at it.
I would highly recommend the Singer Simple Model 3116 to anyone looking to buy a sewing machine. It is strong and durable, yet compact enough as to not take up a lot of space, and would be a great investment for anyone that loves to sew. And coming from the well established Singer company, is a product you know you can trust.

Some SIngers are good... the older the better. Near the end they really weren't well made, sad to say. I have three of them, all different eras. The two oldest still work.
