Sirius One Radio

Reviewing: Sirius One (Sv1)
Purchased at: Radio Shack     Price: $50.00 USD

The latest craze seems to be Satellite radios. I went looking for a Sirius radio for my wife, that wasn't to bulky and was easy to run. I settled on the Sirius One radio and car kit. The Sirius One, is small, about the size of a radar detector. This is good that it doesn't get in the way, but it also suffers from a small digital screen. You can change the font size, but then its huge, and I'm not that blind!!

The car kit comes with both the antennae and the in car power adapter. It also comes with the mounting and visor clip. You can mount this up high or down low and it keeps a low profile which won't bother you while driving. I wish there was a antennae adapter included, as reception can be anywhere from GREAT to mediocre.

If you love Satellite radio and you don't want to be bothered by a huge LCD, check out the Sirius One!!

Of course you have to activate the radio with a subscription from Sirius.

I like these simple to use units. Having had the more ocmplicated ones, the cheaper ones work better in my opinion.

I'd love one of these -- we have such horrible radio stations in my area that I've given up on them, and just listen to CDs. Is the subscription pricey, or reasonable? Nice details; a small system like this one would be my first choice too.

This sounds like a really great option. I would want something that just looks nice and doesn't take up a ton of room. Great information.

We have sirius in both cars, but our stereos support satellite radio, so the hardware just hides under the stereo deck and is routed through it. We used to have the original HUGE bulky one that had a holder in the car and then you could take it in the house as well, the display was nice, it would tell you artist and song title. The best part is instant channel swapping, no static, no commercials, and the djs are actually entertaining! (sorry Tim)
