Sirius Satellite Radio By Billtkatt By billtkatt on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Purchased this radio a few years ago, and haven't looked back since! For those who don't have sattelite radio, there is no censorship. So every song is full and uncut, if you have kids you have to watch what you have on.
For the kids, there are many disney channels and censored channels to choose from. Every Music genre is available from Rock to Country to Oprah, etc.
You have options to choose from with either pay by the month, 3 month, 6 month, 12 month or lifetime payments. We choose the 6 month payments and you'll save money by purchasing the plan that way.
We had a rebate for this unit, and that was a difficulty. They lost the rebate form we sent in, didn't wish to give us the rebate. Had to call a few times, email, etc. and was getting a little upset about all of it. Finally a nice customer service agent gave us the rebate by way of free service for 6 months, so it worked out.
Reception is fantastic and works as long as you are outside, if you travel through many tunnels or parking garages, then it won't work. Obviously because the sattelite signal can't travel through those type of objects. You will also lose reception briefly when traveling under some overpasses.
Once you have this, you'll never listen to regular radio again and you'll hear a lot of bands you wouldn't hear otherwise!

I have been looking into getting one of these but it never occured to me that the music and stuff was not censored. Thank you so much for pointing that out. With kids that is a great thing to know before getting one and being surprised. I like that it offers so many music choices. I was not aware though that Oprah was a music genre though, I've her her sing and she is good at many things, but thatt's not one of them, LOL. I'm sure you either meant opera or that Oprah has a talk show on there but it gave me a chuckle, thanks.
I figured this type of system was not censored since that would be hard to control. It's not going to be something I would purchase because I don't travel in the car for long distances. I'll keep using my cd's !
This sounds like a good satellite radio. Thanks for the information.
I am pretty sure, they never sent my rebate either. Its been a few years ago, but they started out saying you didn't send something you was suppose to for the rebate. When in fact, I followed the directions perfectly. I remember contacting them about it and they would say," they fixed the problem". But, I don't remember ever getting the check. I think they do that on purpose. They act like you didn't do something right. Then they prolong the process so long afterwards. You try to fix the problem, but they expect that most people are like me, and forget. They also expect some to just give up on the process. I am very happy you brought this issue up, because new customers need to know how they do. Thanks.
It sure sounds like you are happy with Sirius Satellite Radio! I am really glad that you were able to get your rebate in the form of free radio service. Rebates get "lost" quite frequently, which is why they are great for manufacturers and retailers, not so much for consumers....
