Skip bo card game is made by Mattel. Its a fun game for the whole family or for people who are seven years old and up. In the center area of play, you put the draw pile. Near the draw pile, is where you will have four building piles. Also, each player will have in front of him/her 4 discard piles. You draw 5 cards andthen you play cards. To do this you start your building piles and each one starts with a one and builds to twelve. There are cards with Skipbo written on them and they are wild and may be used as any card.
Once a pile has a twelve on it you remove that pile to be shuffled and put back in the draw pile. When you can not play you discard a card in front of you. You are allowed 4 different places to put a discard and you may stack cards in piles in the discard row. This may sound complicated but its not. Its a very easy and fun game to play. There is a similar game available to play on the computer and its called Spite and Malice. Spite and Malice is also a lot of fun to play!
You are right in saying that it sounds difficult but our famiuly loves to play card games and this may be one we have to try out. Yo did an excellent job detailing how to play the game! Nice job!

Skip Bo is the best game ever! My hubby and I are always playing it. It is cheap, easy, and can get pretty darn competitive! Let the fun times continue!
I loved playing this game when I was younger with my aunt, I need to go pick up a pack of them.
I used to love to play SkipBo! It was one of my favorite card games, something that my friends and I picked up on as a kind of step up from UNO. Loads of fun!

I don't think I've ever played this card game. I'll have to get it. My 8 year old son and I LOVE to play games.
