I have been playing wrestling games back since the regular nintendo days and this game took a step back in many ways and left me disapointed. Lets start with the story mode you have a limited amount of wrestlers you can choose from and you can't choose anyone from ECW. When you pick who you like or you can use your created wrestler you enter the story mode where you go through and fight to be the wwe champion. I was only playing the story mode for a few hours when i noticed there is not much dialouge at all and part of the story does not always make sense and can be repetitive.

The graphics for this game are really good everyone looks like themselfs along with thier full length entrances which are also visually stunning at first.The gameplay improvments have been well deserved there are now many things you can do with ladders,tables,chairs among other items. One of the best additions is a custom entrance music for your wrestler you can take any song from your play list and give it to your created wrestler or even wrestler on the WWE roster. For a wrestling game this game offers alot of depth but it is lacking content and a revamp in the gameplay area. Nothing much has changed in the online area of the game it's still the same layout but there is not hardly any lag unless you have a bad connection. If your a diehard smackdown vs raw fan i would wait to the price drops or look forward to smackdown vs raw 2009.
