In the pursuit to combat unpleasant odors my family began using natural deodorizers as opposed to synthetic chemically based 'cover-up' sprays. When candles are not an option because of safety issues or children, I recommend using citrus, a natural odor eliminator. Specifically Pure Citrus, compared to other citrus spray brands, because the scent is more pleasant and more effective against nagging or annoying smells. You know the ones...that keep another out of the restroom or label your pet as 'Smelly Cat.' Pure Citrus is a very effective air freshener, if you understand that a little goes a long way!

If over used, it can become an annoying smell itself. At a previous office job, we had a particularly smelly repeat offender who visited the bathroom often. We learned that a heavy trigger finger only compounded the repugnance and added to the offense. While the previous smell could no longer be identified, the new overpowering citrus odor was enough to cause windows to be opened and doors to remain closed. Just a millisecond pressed on the button to release the scent releases just enough odor eliminating citrus freshener, not the clouded, waving, room-filling action normally required for chemical sprays. I can't stress this enough: A Little Bit Goes A Long Way !

Overall, and more importantly, not using synthetic chemicals in my home creates a healthier atmosphere and I feel good about reducing my carbon footprint.
