Snowshoe Mountain By Patrick on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Being a Southeastern snowboarder, I don't have too many options for big mountain riding, aside from flying out West. However, Snowshoe Mountain is one great exception. For me, at least, it seems huge. There are a large number of runs with varying difficulties for absolutely any skier or snowboarder. Over the past five or so years there has been a huge remodeling of the mountain, as far as accomodations and such. They have numerous lodges, cabins, and hotels to suit anyones preference and price range, and all are very close to the slopes. Also, the main village gives people plenty to do off the slopes. There are restaraunts, shops, swimming, and even a night club (its not that great, but it is something to do). I have been here only a handful of times, but have loved it each time, and with a decent sized group of people you can go fairly inexpensively.

Now, this sounds like my kind of resort! Village atmosphere, plenty of lodging and enough trails to satisfy all but the most demanding skiers. Sounds a bit like Vail before it became hot:)

Oh my goodness, I have been there. It is a great place. Thanks for sharing the information.

I'm not a skier but if I were, this sounds like the kind of place I would like!
