I purchased this video for our incredibly intellegent toddler son.It was by far his favorite video for a long time.
The video is a very simple concept.Letters show up on the screen, accompanied by classical music and morph into other letters. My son would watch it 3-5 times a day.And he is already reading at age three and a half. This video, with its straightforward linear progression, I believe really helped my son's growing mind grasp the concept of letters. And the soothing classical music wasn't hard for mom to have to deal with either.
In short, I highly recommend this video for mom's interested in their children's education. Tape hasn't worn out from well over 100 viewings either.

Thanks for sharing something so important for the kids. I am happy that he watches it over and over and that the tape still works. I always wondered about how long the vhs tapes would last. Is this available on dvd? I would love to buy this for my grandkids.
My son had the So Smart videos when he was a baby too. He liked them also.
Learn something new every day. Will keep this in mind as my son gets older.
I've not heard of this product before. I'll have to check it out for my daughter. She loves music.
Very cool. It must be good too to hold your sons attention that well.
This sounds like a great video for the little ones. And reading at 3.5 years? That is wonderful!!! :o)
It is amazing, given the right tools, how early a child can learn to read. These So Smart videos are really excellent for children who are motivated at an early age to learn.
Always glad to hear of products for children who are ready for the next level a little sooner than the average!
Great to know, I'm entering this phase of our lives and am looking for educational tools to help our son with learning letters/shapes/colors/etc. I'm hoping there are other topics in this series?
This video sounds sooo adorable and educational! It is nice to know that the VHS tape has been watched at least 100 times and is still going strong! By the rate it is going it will outlive your VCR!
