So That's Wat They're For By Janet Tamaro By eclecticbird on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

As a first time mother I was worried about everything including breastfeeding. I knew that it was the healthiest option for my baby and that there were medical benefits for me as well, however, that is all I knew about breastfeeding. I had heard horror stories and was worried about it being painful or not being able to do it at all but I decided I would give it a try. I told a friend of mine that I had decided to try and that I didn't think I'd be able to stick to it but I was going to do my best. Then she recommended this book.

I am so happy she did! I read this book and because of the advice and information included in it I have been able to breastfeed with no difficulties at all. In fact it is so easy and not painful that I'm now planning on breastfeeding for the recommended year.

In the book Tamaro talks about why breastfeeding isn't as common as it once was and some of the social obsticles one finds when deciding to breastfeed (like feeding in public, what age to stop). She also gives excellent advice on how to make it not be painful, from holds that are good to proper latching technique and much more.

This book is a must have for anyone who wants to breastfeed.
